City tour through Ekaterinburg (2 hours)
General tour through Ekaterinburg includes the main sights of the historical city center. You will see the dam (so called Plotinka) on the Iset river which forms the city pond. This dam gave birth to the Ekaterinburg plant in XVIII century, which meant foundation of the city itself. The monument to the city founders – Tatischev and De Genin is situated not far from the dam. The first stone building of Ekaterinburg – Chancellery of Mines (conservatoire at the moment) – and merchants’ mansions of 19th century on the banks of the city pond are the interesting points of the excursion.
You will see the central squares of the city - The Square of 1905 and Oktyabrskaya Square, the office blocks of the City Duma and the regional government. The excursion goes along the central city street – Lenina Street, from the memorial of Eternal Flame to the one of the largest universities of the Ural region– Ural State Technics University (UGTU UPI). You will visit the Hill of Ascension where the Palace of Rastorguevs–Kharitonovs, one of the most beautiful city buildings, is located and the Temple-on-Blood, which was constructed in the place of the notorious engineer Ipatiev’s house, where the last Russian emperor Nikolay II and his family spent their last days.
