Thousands of Danish smokers protest

Danish smokers held a smoke-in -- or a smoke-out -- outside Parliament to protest the country's new anti-smoking law.

The legislation, which takes effect in August, bans smoking from restaurants and other business establishments larger than 40 yards square.

About 10,000 people -- including restaurant and bar owners as well as smokers -- gathered Thursday outside Christiansborg Palace. The protest began Wednesday with hundreds of people bused in from elsewhere in the country.

Birthe Skaarup, head of the health committee in Parliament, invited some of the protesters to attend a meeting Thursday to discuss why they dislike the law.

Ole Tjener of Svendborg said there was nothing to discuss.

"They're not going to tell me whether or not I can smoke at my local bar, he said".

με τους ηλιακους συλλεκτες, ο (Σ)αβραμοπουλος δεν αφηνει την ηλιακη ενεργεια να παει χαμενη, την κραταει ολη για την παρτη του, για να τον βαραει ο ηλιος στο κεφαλι, αυτον και μονο αυτον και τους ομοιους του, και να μαλακιζεται νομοθετικα οπως τωρα. Ελπιζω να φοντισε στις επομενες εκλογες να ειναι στο επικρατειαας, γιατι στην περιφερεια του δεν θα δει ουτε την δικια του ψηφο...
