Gilberto Silva...
Brazilian World Cup winner Gilberto Silva's future at Arsenal remains uncertain, which has alerted several leading European clubs keen to acquire the midfielder's services.
According the Sky Sports, Gilberto is pondering his future, having had a frustrating time of things at the Emirates Stadium last season when he struggled to win back his place from Mathieu Flamini. The Frenchman - now at AC Milan - had taken his chance well when Gilberto was involved in, then resting after, last summer's Copa America.
The 32-year-old Brazil star has previously suggested that, at this stage of his playing career. a move be necessary if he can't secure regular first team football at Arsenal.
Monitoring the situation closely are said to be Italian giants Juventus, Greek side Panathinaikos, and La Liga side Valencia in Spain.
Gilberto has a year left on his current Arsenal deal, and is due to discuss his future with agent Frank Trimboli when he returns from holiday later this month.
Arsenal manager
Arsene Wenger admires Gilberto and values his qualities highly. He would be reluctant to let the player leave, especially with Flamini having already quit for the San Siro.
But if other big clubs come in with attractive bids, Wenger could have a struggle on his hands to keep him the Brazilian at the Emirates.
