The Spintria, the currency of sex in ancient Rome
The "Spintria" à la currency used to pay performance in brothel. In Theory, it was forbidden to use coins with the effigy of the emperor in these places, hence the use of spintriae. They are "tokens" of bronze that have one side a couple represented in a sexual position (each time different: they have come up to us nine different positions) and on the other a number which, depending on the coins, goes from I to XVI.
